Songs for Sabotage





Suona molto attuale il titolo della quarta Triennale del New Museum di New York,  “Songs for Sabotage" in una fase di complessità questa nuova edizione si immerge nelle criticità del cambiamento socio-culturale del nuovo millennio.

Una iniziativa che vuole immergersi nella realtà più che descriverla, cercando di indagarla direttamente, sulla linea di impegno della scorsa Documenta, molto criticata per la sua funzione più sociale che artistica.

Domani si vedrà bene se queste istanze giungono ad una forma “estetica” o si fermano alla lodevolo funzione culturale.

"Songs for Sabotage" è curato da Gary Carrion-Murayari, Kraus Family Curator per il New Museum, e Alex Gartenfeld, vice direttore fondatore e Chief Curator presso l'Institute of Contemporary Art di Miami, con Francesca Altamura, assistente curatoriale. Catalogo della Phaidon Press Limited.




Il New Museum Triennial è l'unica esposizione internazionale ricorrente a New York dedicata agli artisti emergenti. La prima edizione è iniziata nel 2009 con "Younger Than Jesus", curata da Massimiliano Gioni, Laura Hoptman e Lauren Cornell. La seconda Triennale "The Ungovernables" è stata curata da Eungie Joo nel 2012. La terza Triennale "Surround Audience" è stata curata da Lauren Cornell e Ryan Trecartin con Sara O'Keeffe e Helga Christoffersen nel 2015.
